Context:Rio Tinto owns and operates Bell Bay Aluminium in Tasmania. They are aiming to minimise alumina dust pollution caused by the unloading operation to increase operational safety and minimise environmental effects.
Our Role:Engenuity was engaged in partnership with ASPEC to complete the pre-feasibility study, including electrical, instrumentation and control systems design for options to minimise dust pollution. This included modifications to both wharf infrastructure and process equipment.

This project provided the following outcomes:

  • Preliminary design for three (3) options to minimise dust pollution.
