Situation: | Engenuity was first approached by Surf Lakes with an idea, and asked if it could be turned into a real machine. The idea was to design and build a concentric wave machine intended to be part of a surf park development that could simultaneously produce multiple different wave breaks. |
Our Role: | Engenuity managed the design and delivery of all electrical, mechanical and controls engineering over a staged approach, producing a series of prototypes each increasing in size and level of automation. This role included assessing potential partners, managing vendors and specialist sub-contractors. Engenuity was also charged with the project, construction and commissioning management of the project. |
The Outcome: | What started as a dream was brought to life through innovative thinking and collaboration with other like-minded parties, particularly Aspec Engineering, resulted in a full-scale working prototype. The final machine was successfully commissioned in 2019. |
